Ezekiel 42–48 | The Glory of the Lord Returns

In this Sleepy Scriptures One-Year Bible episode, we complete the book of Ezekiel with chapters 42 through 48 from the King James Version.

Ezekiel’s vision of the restored temple continues until, in a magnificent moment, the glory of the Lord returns from the east and fills the house. After years of visions marked by judgment, exile, and the departure of God’s glory, the prophet now sees divine presence restored among His people.

The vision then turns to worship, the ordering of the land, and a remarkable river flowing from beneath the temple. At first the water is shallow, but it steadily deepens until it becomes “waters to swim in.” Wherever the river flows, it brings life, healing, abundance, and trees whose leaves are for medicine.

The book concludes with the restored land divided among the tribes of Israel and a final name for the city: “The LORD is there.”

Settle in with gentle narration, soothing music, and peaceful visuals as Ezekiel chapters 42 to 48 bring this extraordinary prophetic book to a close with visions of glory, living water, healing, restoration, and the abiding presence of God.
