In this Sleepy Scriptures One-Year Bible episode, we continue through the book of Isaiah with chapters 31 through 38 from the King James Version.
These chapters call God’s people away from misplaced trust and back to the Lord, who defends, delivers, and saves. Isaiah speaks of righteousness, peace, quietness, and assurance, and gives a beautiful vision of restoration: the wilderness rejoicing, the desert blossoming as the rose, and a highway called the way of holiness.
The reading also brings us into the days of King Hezekiah, when Jerusalem is threatened by Assyria. In his distress, Hezekiah goes before the Lord in prayer, and God answers with deliverance. Later, when Hezekiah is sick unto death, the Lord hears his tears and adds years to his life.
Settle in with gentle narration, soothing music, and peaceful visuals as Isaiah chapters 31 to 38 guide us through warning, hope, prayer, healing, and the saving power of God.
