In this Sleepy Scriptures One-Year Bible episode, we continue through the book of Isaiah with chapters 55 through 63 from the King James Version.
The reading begins with God’s gracious invitation to everyone who thirsts: “Come ye to the waters.” Isaiah calls us to seek the Lord while He may be found and reminds us that God’s thoughts and ways are higher than our own. His word will not return empty, but will accomplish the purpose for which He sends it.
These chapters speak of true worship, justice, healing, guidance, and peace. We hear the promise that the Lord will guide His people continually, the assurance that His hand is not shortened that it cannot save, and the radiant call: “Arise, shine; for thy light is come.”
Isaiah also foretells the anointed One who brings good tidings to the meek, binds up the brokenhearted, and gives beauty for ashes. Settle in with gentle narration, soothing music, and peaceful visuals as Isaiah chapters 55 to 63 lead us toward mercy, restoration, everlasting light, and praise.
