In this final Sleepy Scriptures One-Year Bible episode, we complete our journey through the Old Testament with Zechariah chapters 8 through 14 and the complete book of Malachi, read from the King James Version.
Zechariah looks ahead with extraordinary hope. Jerusalem will again be called a city of truth. The Lord promises blessing instead of fear, and the prophet foretells a humble King coming to Jerusalem, “riding upon an ass.” He also speaks of the one who is pierced, a fountain opened for cleansing, and a future day when “the LORD shall be king over all the earth.”
Then we come to Malachi, the final book of the Old Testament. The prophet calls God’s people back to sincere worship, faithfulness, and reverence, while promising that the Lord will remember those who fear His name. Malachi looks ahead to a messenger who will prepare the way and to the coming “Sun of righteousness” who will arise with healing in His wings.
And so our One-Year Bible journey comes to its conclusion—not with silence alone, but with expectation. The Old Testament closes looking forward: toward the coming King, the promised messenger, healing, restoration, and the day of the Lord.
Settle in with gentle narration, soothing music, and peaceful visuals as Zechariah and Malachi bring this year-long journey through Scripture to a quiet and hopeful close.
